EMPHASIS: Death Investigation

Captain Luke Vislay, Director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces that members of the Troop-F DDCC unit were called to assist the Owensville Police Department on July 1, 2008, with the death investigation of Kristin M. Hughes, age 29 of Hermann, Missouri.

Hughes was found deceased in a creek at approximately 3:45 pm by two pedestrians that were walking along Highway 28 in the city limits of Owensville. An autopsy was conducted on July 2, 2008, at the Boone/Callaway County Medical Examiners Office in Columbia, Missouri. Preliminary results of this investigation and autopsy indicate that Hughes’ injuries are consistent with that of a fall into the creek resulting in a drowning under unknown circumstances. This investigation is continuing and any further information will be released as details are discovered.
