EMPHASIS: Fugitive Arrest In Troop F

On Saturday, September 12, 2009, Troop F SWAT troopers arrested Chad E. Schaffner, 37, at a motel in Kingdom City, MO. Schaffner was wanted on felony warrants for bank robbery, burglary, armed robbery, and receiving stolen property. He was also a suspect in bank robberies in Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Troop F was notified by a citizen that a subject observed in Kingdom City matched a person that was shown on the television show, "America's Most Wanted" and who allegedly was involved in a bank robbery in Caseyville, IL. Schaffner was taken into custody without resistance.
In addition to Troop F troopers, the FBI and Callaway County Sheriff's Department assisted with the apprehension.
The charges for which Schaffner has been arrested are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
