EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces May Enforcement Projects And Youth Alcohol Enforcement Campaign

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that during the month of May, Troop I officers will be involved in two special enforcement projects that emphasize the removal of impaired drivers from our highways. These operations include a DWI saturation and a sobriety checkpoint, which will both be held in Laclede County.
Captain Kenley would also like to inform the public that May 3-13, 2012, has been designated as Youth Alcohol Enforcement mobilization dates.
“During that period, our troopers will be making every effort to detect and enforce all alcohol-related offenses involving teens and young adults,” said Captain Kenley. “As a parent, grandparent, or guardian, I hope you have taken it upon yourself to help educate the next generation about the devastating effects that alcohol can have on their lives. The success of this mobilization campaign cannot be achieved solely through our enforcement efforts. So, please help by informing your children or grandchildren that the use of alcohol is unsafe, against the law, and not an accepted rite of passage for them.”
