EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint


Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Crawford County. The checkpoint was conducted on August 25, 2012 from 8 p.m. until 12 a.m. in Leasburg on Rt. H. During the course of the four-hour operation, officers stopped 205 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:

DWI Arrests: 3
Seat Belt Violations: 2
Speed Violations: 1
Driver’s License Violations: 1
Uninsured Motorists Violations: 3
Warnings: 5

Captain Kenley stated, “Intoxicated drivers not only endanger their own lives, but also the lives of others. As a law enforcement officer, I believe sobriety checkpoints have done much to make our highways safer.”
