A total of 28 traffic citations were issued and 22 warnings given, as a result of a sobriety checkpoint held in Laclede County, which was in operation from 9 p.m., May 5, 2012, until 1 a.m. on May 6, 2012. The checkpoint was conducted within the city limits of Lebanon at the intersection of South Jefferson Avenue and Addison Drive. Assisting the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the checkpoint was the Lebanon Police Department. Officers assigned to the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG) were also available, if their assistance was needed. Enforcement contacts were as follows:

Careless And Imprudent Driving: 1
Seat Belt Violations: 7
Non-moving Traffic Offenses: 3
Driver’s License Violations: 3
Uninsured Motorists: 14

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, stated, “In addition to this checkpoint, a DWI saturation was also conducted in Laclede County the previous night. During the two operations, there were no arrests made for DWI. I hope the results of these are an accurate indicator that the message of the dangers of impaired driving is being heard and adhered to by all motorists. Please help make our roads safer, by never choosing to drive if you have been drinking.”
