EMPHASIS: Seven New Troopers Assigned To Troop C

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, is pleased to announce seven new troopers have been assigned to Troop C. The new troopers were members of the Patrol’s 102nd Recruit Class, which graduated on June 24, 2016. The troopers completed 25 weeks of intense training at the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri. The new troopers will report to their assignments on July 11, 2016. They will work with a field training officer for approximately three months before working independently. The new troopers’ assignments are as follows:

Trooper Kyle L. Elledge, 22, a native of Newburg, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, serving St. Francois and Washington counties. Trooper Elledge is a graduate of Rolla High School in Rolla, Missouri. He attended Columbia College at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he studied criminal justice. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Elledge worked as a press operator for Manchester Packaging in St. James, Missouri. Trooper Elledge is also a member of the Army National Guard where he serves in the infantry division.

Trooper Justin C. Jenkins, 22, a native of Potosi, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 16, serving Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. Trooper Jenkins is a graduate of Potosi High School in Potosi, Missouri. He attended Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri, where he graduated with an associate degree. Prior to joining the Highway Patrol, Trooper Jenkins worked as an officer for the Missouri Department of Corrections in Potosi, Missouri.

Trooper Robert P. Mahoney, 24, a native of Arnold, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 16, serving Ste. Genevieve and Perry counties. Trooper Mahoney is a graduate of Fox High School in Arnold, Missouri. He attended Jefferson College in Arnold, Missouri, where he graduated with an associate degree in education. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Mahoney worked as a sewer service technician for Commercial Drain and Sewer Cleaning Incorporated in Fenton, Missouri.

Trooper Kaven D. Roney, 46, a native of Farmington, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, serving St. Francois and Washington counties. Trooper Roney is a graduate of Central High School in Park Hills, Missouri. He attended Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri, where he graduated with an associate degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Roney was a police officer for the Desloge Police Department in Desloge, Missouri. Trooper Roney also served as an infantryman and motor transport operator for the United States Army. Trooper Roney is married to Teresa (Boyd) and has three children, Jacob (23), Jordan (19), and Audrey (13).

Trooper Jeremy D. Sanders, 27, a native of Cuba, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, serving St. Francois and Washington counties. Trooper Sanders is a graduate of Cuba High School in Cuba, Missouri and attended East Central College in Union, Missouri. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Sanders worked as a laborer for Cowling-Garbo Concrete in St. Peters, Missouri. Trooper Sanders is married to Jillian (Libhart) and has one child, Landry (3).

Trooper Nelson R. Saucedo, 37, a native of Valley Park, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, serving North St. Louis County. Trooper Saucedo is a graduate of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Saucedo worked in public safety for Webster University. Trooper Saucedo is married to Christene (Fryer) and has one child, Ethan (11).

Trooper Brodie P. Wasso, 25, a native of South Haven, Michigan, has been assigned to Zone 8, serving St. Charles County. Trooper Wasso is a graduate of South Haven High School in South Haven, Michigan. He attended University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Wasso worked as a spray technician for Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters, Missouri. Trooper Wasso is married to Cindy (Lackey).
