EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Checkpoint In Pettis County

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint that was conducted in Pettis County on July 18, 2009. A total of 484 cars were checked during this operation.
Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested three people for driving while intoxicated, two people were arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, one person was arrested on a drug violation, and four citations were issued for other violations. In addition, 45 warnings were issued.
The checkpoints are part of the continuing effort by the Missouri State Highway Patrol to remove intoxicated drivers from the highways.
