EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Saturation Results


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the results of enforcement efforts on Table Rock, Stockton, and Pomme de Terre lakes. On Saturday, May 25, troopers on the three lakes focused their efforts in the continuing goal to remove hazardous and impaired boaters from Missouri's waterways. The following is a list of the enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Boating While Intoxicated -- 3 arrests
Marine Moving Violations -- 11 summonses
Marine Equipment Violations -- 3 summonses
Warnings -- 76
Marine Inspections -- 12

Troop D had no reported boating crashes or drownings during this year's holiday counting period. Over the 2012 Memorial Day holiday weekend, Troop D had five boating crashes with no fatalities, injuries, or drownings.

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
