EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Crawford County Enforcement Operation

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a hazardous moving enforcement operation conducted in Crawford County on July 31, 2009. During the eight-hour operation the two assigned troopers stopped 15 vehicles. The troopers issued 17 warnings and made 14 arrests for the following traffic offenses and one felony arrest:

Speed: 13
Failure To Wear A Seat Belt: 1
Felony Drug Arrest: 1

Captain Kenley stated, “Thus far in 2009, the six-county Troop I area has had 12 traffic fatalities. As of this date last year, troopers assigned to Troop I had investigated 27 fatal traffic crashes. I am proud of this reduction, but realize that even more can be done to further reduce the number of traffic fatalities. I want to again encourage everyone to obey the rules of the road and to always practice being a courteous driver.”
