EMPHASIS: Operation C.A.R.E. Combined Accident Reduction Effort Lifesaver Weekend Totals for Troop E



Captain G.E. Ridens, commanding officer, Troop E announces the Operation C.A.R.E Lifesaver Weekend enforcement totals for the Troop E area, which consists of the 13 southeast counties of Missouri.
During the Operation Lifesaver Weekend, which began Friday December 21, 2007, and ended on Sunday December 23, 2007, officers investigated 24 traffic crashes--one of those being a fatality and one involving alcohol. Troop E officers made 12 arrests for driving while intoxicated, issued 75 speeding summonses, 40 seat belt summonses, one child restraint summons, and assisted 70 motorists.
“Throughout this past year, the Patrol has conducted numerous operations like these,” stated Captain Ridens. “We encourage motorists to continue doing their part in keeping our highways safe by not drinking and driving, and wearing their seat belts.”
