EMPHASIS: Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement Totals for Troop C


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the Thanksgiving weekend traffic crash enforcement totals for the Troop C area. During the weekend, troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) and the 20-Mile Trooper operation. The 2012 Thanksgiving weekend traffic crash counting period began at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21 2012, and ended at midnight on November 25, 2012. The following are totals from the enforcement operations:

Speed -- 801 summonses
Seat Belt -- 306 summonses
Child Restraint -- 38 summonses
Non Moving -- 118 summonses
Drivers License/No Insurance/Registration Violations -- 312 summonses
Followed Too Closely -- 12 summonses
Hazardous Moving -- 180 summonses
Hazardous Equipment -- 60 summonses
DWI -- 61 Arrests
Drug Possession -- 29 Arrests
Misdemeanor Violations -- 89 Arrests
Felony Violations -- 23 Arrests
Total Warnings -- 1502
Commercial Vehicles Stopped -- 44
Non-Commercial Vehicles Stopped -- 244
Motor Vehicle Crashes Investigated -- 107

“The Missouri State Highway Patrol takes holiday weekends very seriously,” stated Captain Johnson. “As winter approaches, we want to remind everyone to take driving seriously and buckle up. Doing this will help reduce traffic crashes and fatalities in Missouri.”

The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click it 4 Life !!!
