EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Upcoming Saturation Patrols On Roadways And Rivers

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces two upcoming special enforcement projects. These operations will both place an emphasis on the detection of impaired drivers, either by alcohol or illegal drugs, who operate either a motor vehicle or a watercraft. A BWI/DWI saturation patrol will be conducted at river accesses, and on the roads near those locations, in Maries County, sometime during the remainder of the month of July. A second such saturation patrol will be conducted sometime during the month of August in Crawford County.
Captain Kenley stated, “Many of us understand the hazards of operating a vehicle on the road while impaired. However, we need to remember that the same dangers exist when attempting to operate a watercraft while under the influence. Please play it safe and don’t mix alcohol with the responsibility of operating any vehicle or vessel.”
