EMPHASIS: Wanted Suspect In Custody

On January 15, 2015, at approximately 10:07 a.m., Troop H received information regarding the possible location of a suspect, Bradley E. Chapman, 35, from Green City, Missouri, being in the Trenton, Missouri area. A Sullivan County warrant indicated that Chapman was wanted for felony assault and a parole violation. Information was developed that placed the subject at a residence in Trenton, Missouri. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, along with officers from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department and the Trenton Police Department, observed a vehicle leave this residence and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued which ultimately traveled eastbound across Missouri Highway 6. The pursuit entered Sullivan County where the suspect fled the vehicle and after a short foot pursuit was taken into custody. Chapman is being held in the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail.
The above charges are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
