EMPHASIS: Death Investigation Ruled A Homicide


On September 8, 2008, at approximately 8:07 p.m., members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop A, responded to the rest area on northbound Interstate 29 in Platte County to investigate the report of a subject in the restroom who had been shot.
Valentin G. Kirilchuk, 39, of Springfield, Missouri, was the subject found deceased with a gunshot wound.
Investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control have ruled this death investigation a homicide and continue to seek answers into this investigation.
Anyone with information or who was in the area of the rest area on September 8, 2008, between the hours of 5:00 p.m., and 8:30 p.m., is asked to call the Tips Hotline at 816-474-TIPS, or the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop A Headquarters at 816-622-0800.
