EMPHASIS: Troop B Officers To Conduct Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations In July

Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces Troop B officers will be conducting Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations (S.T.E.P.) on U.S. Highway 63 on July 3, 2007, and on U.S. Highway 61 on July 7, 2007. During these operations, additional officers will be assigned to these specific areas with the goal of detecting hazardous moving violations and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. These enforcement operations will coincide with Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) over the July Fourth holiday period, meaning all available officers will be patrolling Missouri’s roadways.
“July Fourth is a time to celebrate and spend time with family and friends,” said Captain Elliott. “We want to remind motorists drive safely and always make sure to wear their safety belts.”
