EMPHASIS:
Body Recovered In Barton County -- Troop D
On July 11, 2016, at the request of Barton County Sheriff Mitchell Shaw, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Barton County Deputies, responded to a rural area approximately three miles southeast of Lamar, Missouri, to a report of a body located in a farm pond. Current information is the body is of an unidentified infant female. The Southwest Missouri Major Case Squad has been activated to assist in the investigation and an autopsy will be conducted today, in an attempt to identify the individual and determine a cause of death. The investigation is ongoing by the Barton County Sheriff's Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Southwest Missouri Major Case Squad. No additional details are available at this time.
