EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces The Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint



Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted from 10 p.m., on May 3, 2014, until 2 a.m., May 4, 2014, on Missouri Highway 28 at the Gasconade River in Pulaski County. During the four-hour period, troopers assigned to the checkpoint stopped a total of 195 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the operation:

Seat Belt Violations: 5
Child Restraint Violations: 1
Non-Moving Traffic Violations: 1
Driver’s License Violations: 3
Uninsured Motorist Violations: 1
Driving While Suspended/Revoked: 2
Misdemeanor Drug Arrests: 7

Felony Drug Arrests: 2
Felony Warrant Arrests: 1

“If you observe a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner, please call the Missouri State Highway Patrol emergency hotline at 1-800-525-5555 or *55 on a cellular phone to report the incident,” stated Captain Kenley. “By removing the impaired driver from our highways we hope to continue to make Missouri’s highways some of the safest in our nation.”
In support of “The Drive To Zero Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
