EMPHASIS: Troop H To Offer Boating Safety Course


Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, announces a boater safety certification course being offered to the public on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at The Remington Nature Center, 1502 McArthur Dr., St. Joseph, Missouri 64505. The class will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at approximately 4 p.m. There is no cost for this course; however, students are required to pre-register as seating will be limited. For more information, or to register for the course, you may contact Troop H at telephone number 816-387-2345. Participants will be responsible for providing their own lunch.
Missouri law requires any person born after January 1, 1984, to carry a boater safety certification card, along with a picture I.D. anytime they operate a vessel, which includes personal watercraft, on Missouri lakes. This course is also available via video by calling 1-800-830-2268 or online at www.mshp.dps.mo.gov or www.boat-ed.com/mo.
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
