EMPHASIS: Troop D - Results Of DWI Saturation In Taney County

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on Saturday evening, July 21, 2012, in Taney County. The saturation was held from 7:00 p.m. on Saturday to 3 a.m. on Sunday. The enforcement locations were selected based on their high number of drinking/impairment-related traffic crashes and the high number of contacts with drivers who have been intoxicated.

A total of 45 vehicles were stopped during this operation and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the following arrests:

3 -- DWI arrests
6 -- hazardous moving violations
6 -- seat belt violations
2 -- equipment violations
2 -- driver license summonses
1 -- insurance violation
1 -- registration violation
78 -- warnings issued

“Driving drunk is simply not worth all the consequences,” stated Captain Villanueva. “Our message is simple and unwavering: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” To report a suspected intoxicated driver dial 9-1-1 or *55 on your cell phone.
