EMPHASIS: Special Olympic T-Shirt Sales

Officers from Troop C of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be selling “Special Olympic Torch Run” T-shirts to raise money to support Special Olympics Missouri. The T-shirts will be on sale at the new Shop and Save store located on Missouri Route N at U.S. Highway 40, next to Target, on August 17-19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. All of the proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go toward defraying the cost of uniforms and equipment for the St. Louis Area Special Olympics athletes.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with mental retardation or closely related developmental disabilities. The culmination of the fund-raising efforts comes each year when law enforcement officers carry the “Flame of Hope” torch across the state to its final destination, the Special Olympics Summer Games in Columbia, Missouri.
