EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Thanksgiving Holiday Traffic Totals


Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) traffic totals for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend:
Troop G reported one fatal traffic crash, investigated three alcohol-related traffic crashes, and investigated 16 crashes on C.A.R.E. designated highways. Troopers made nine DWI arrests, three drug arrests, and issued 407 citations for speed, 96 seat belt tickets, and six child restraint summonses. Additionally, officers issued 619 warnings and provided assistance to 152 motorists. Included in the above-listed totals were the following totals from the 20-Mile Trooper operation in which troopers patrolled a designated section of U.S. Highway 60:
1 -- DWI arrest
108 -- speed summonses
13 -- seat belt summonses
2 -- child restraint summonses
1 -- other hazardous moving vehicle summons
8 -- non-moving violation summonses
1 -- driver's license summons
1 -- uninsured motorist summons
3 -- misdemeanor warrant arrests
3 -- other misdemeanor arrests/criminal offenses
61 -- warnings

Captain Isringhausen says, “As we approach the winter driving season, please plan ahead when traveling, don’t drink and drive, watch your speed, and always wear your seat belt.”
