EMPHASIS: Troop B Area Residents Complete Troop B Community Alliance Program
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, MO, announces on November 11, 2013, 19 Troop B area residents completed a Community Alliance Program (citizens' academy) offered by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop B Headquarters. This was the ninth program of its type conducted at Troop B since 2001. The Community Alliance Program is a unique opportunity for citizens to gain insight and understanding of the training and many duties of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. It also offers an opportunity to meet and interact with several members and employees of the Patrol. During the program, the participants met at the Troop B Headquarters in Macon, MO, for 10 consecutive Monday evenings and received classroom and practical instruction on various topics including firearms, traffic stops, traffic crash and criminal investigations, polygraph examinations, and driving while intoxicated enforcement.
The program culminated with an awards ceremony, which was held at and sponsored by the Macon Comfort Inn. During the awards ceremony, participants received a plaque for their participation. Participants of the 2013 Troop B Community Alliance Program were: Christian Abernatha, of Macon; Monte Ashmore, of Macon; Herbert Austin, of Queen City, MO; Gina Browning, of Macon; Keith Carter, of Macon; Jerry Collins, of Macon; Joseph Delaney, of Baring, MO; Sarah Hartung, of Macon; Mike Howard, of Macon; Alecia Lassing, of Macon; Harold Miller, of Atlanta, MO; Justin Miller, of Atlanta, MO; Dr. Shawn Peters, of Macon; Richard Saltsgaver, of Macon; Ronald Stuck, of Huntsville, MO; Duane Sullivan, of Macon; Tracy Tate, of Macon; Donny Wyatt, of Macon; and Rowena Young, of Bevier, MO.
The Patrol encourages motorist and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear it!!!
