EMPHASIS: Drug Seizure, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D.

On August 9, 2010, an eastbound Volvo conventional tractor-trailer was stopped by a commercial vehicle officer for a compliance check on Interstate 44, at the 89-mile marker, in Greene County. After discovering several discrepancies in the driver’s paperwork, a canine officer was requested and consent to search the vehicle was obtained by the trooper. A search revealed 523 pounds of marijuana located in several cardboard boxes inside the trailer.
The driver, John J. Walters, of Escondido, CA, was arrested for drug trafficking, and transported to the Greene County Sheriff's Office.
The charge for which the above person was arrested is a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
