EMPHASIS: Results Of Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation Conducted In Macon County


Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation conducted by Troop B officers in Macon County.
On August 9, 2008 from 9:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. on August 10, 2008, four Troop B officers focused their attention to highways in the Macon County area. The goal of the operation was to detect intoxicated drivers and other hazardous moving violations that contribute to traffic crashes. During the six-hour enforcement operation, officers stopped 37 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the operation:

1 -- DWI arrest
5 -- Speeding Violations
1 -- Hazardous Moving Violation
39 -- Warnings Issued
