EMPHASIS: Zero Fatalities In Troop C During Fourth of July Holiday
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer, Troop C, announces Fourth of July weekend totals for Troop C. There were no fatalities reported in the 11 counties in the Troop C area.
Troopers in Troop C investigated 54 crashes, 28 involving injuries, during the four-day holiday, and arrested 29 subjects for driving while intoxicated. In an effort to promote safety and reduce traffic crashes during the July 4th holiday weekend, troopers worked several projects such as the Ten-Mile Trooper program. Patrol aircraft was also in the air patrolling sections of interstate throughout the holiday weekend.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to promote highway safety through education and enforcement. Captain Ronald Johnson reminds everyone driving on Missouri roadways to wear their seat belts, obey the speed limits, and pay attention while operating a motor vehicle.
