EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Results

On August 20, 2011, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Dekalb County. A total of 11 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
Troopers arrested two motorists for driving while intoxicated, made three minor in possession arrests, wrote two driver’s license violations, and issued one summons for a seat belt violation. Troopers also issued four warnings to motorists for minor violations. A total of 108 vehicles came into the checkpoint.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “Impaired drivers put all of us at risk and are truly dangerous. The checkpoint is a tool to safeguard the highways of Missouri.”
