EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Promotions And Transfers


Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the following promotions and transfers that were effective February 1, 2014.

Corporal Jason E. Riggs was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and designated the zone commander of Zone 8, Laclede County. Sergeant Riggs was promoted to the rank of corporal on February 1, 2012, while assigned to Zone 8. He is a native of Osage Beach, Missouri and a 1989 graduate of Camdenton High School in Camdenton, Missouri. Sergeant Riggs is also a 2003 graduate of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. He was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1996 and was assigned to Zone 5, Laclede County, upon his graduation from the academy. Sergeant Riggs is married to Stefanie Riggs (Amer) and they have two daughters, Bailey and Keeley.

Sergeant Jason H. Glendenning transferred from Zone 8, Laclede County, where he served as the zone commander, to Troop I’s newly created, Zone 11, where he will again serve as zone commander for the Troop I officer’s assigned to marine enforcement. Sergeant Glendenning is a native of Lebanon and a 1989 graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Missouri. He also attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, and earned an associate of arts degree from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri. Sergeant Glendenning was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1995, and was assigned to Troop D, Springfield, following his graduation. While serving in Troop D, Glendenning was promoted to the rank of corporal, but took a voluntary demotion to the rank of trooper, so that he could move back to his hometown of Lebanon and Troop I. On July 24, 2005, he was again promoted to the rank of corporal, while assigned to Zone 8, and on February 1, 2012, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, while still assigned to Zone 8. Sgt. Glendenning is married to Amanda Glendenning (Coffman) and they have four children, Ty, Jenna, Quincey and Jax.

Corporal Greg A. Weddle transferred from Zone 9, Crawford County, where he served as the assistant zone commander, to Zone 4, which patrols Pulaski and western Maries counties, where he will also serve as the assistant zone commander. Cpl. Weddle is a native of Lebanon, and a 1993 graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, MO. Cpl. Weddle was serving as a Laclede County Sheriff’s Deputy when appointed to the Patrol on March 5, 2000. Upon his graduation from the academy, Weddle was assigned to Troop F and stationed in Camden County. On April 2, 2006, he transferred from Troop F to Troop I, Zone 8, Laclede County. Cpl. Weddle was promoted to his current rank and assigned to Zone 9, on June 1, 2011. Cpl. Weddle is married to Lisa Weddle (Hutchison) and they have three children, Hayden, Gage and Granger.

Trooper Kent A. Brackett was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 8, Laclede County. Cpl. Brackett is a native of Lebanon and a 1984 graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, MO. Cpl. Brackett also attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO, and served in the U.S. Air Force prior to his appointment to the Patrol on July 1, 1996. Upon his graduation from the academy, Brackett was assigned to Troop D, where he patrolled Vernon and Barton counties. On January 1, 2004, Cpl. Brackett transferred from Troop D to Troop I and was stationed in Laclede County. Cpl. Brackett is married to Connie Brackett (Kellner) and they have one child, Skyler.

Trooper Joseph T. Peart was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 9, Crawford County. Cpl. Peart is a native of Cairo, Missouri and a 2005 graduate of Northeast R-IV in Cairo, MO. Cpl. Peart also attended Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, Missouri, where he earned an associate of arts degree in 2007. Cpl. Peart was appointed to the Patrol on January 16, 2009, and upon his graduation from the academy was assigned to Troop I, Zone 9. Cpl. Peart is married to Erica Peart (Simms) and they have one child, Natalie.
