EMPHASIS: OPERATION A.R.R.E.S.T. / May 30, 2008

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer Troop C, St. Louis, announces “Operation A.R.R.E.S.T” (Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team). The purpose of Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. is to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the potential hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. To maximize enforcement efforts in deterring impaired driving, remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways, and to reduce fatalities and injuries through vigorous enforcement of Missouri traffic laws.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. will utilize six Missouri state troopers to conduct this project. The six troopers have been chosen because of their dedication and leadership in removing 329 intoxicated drivers from Missouri highways in 2007.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. will take place in St. Charles County on Friday, May 30, 2008. The operation will commence at 7 p.m. and end at 3 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008.
