EMPHASIS: Troop D To Participate In Click It Or Ticket Campaign
Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces that Troop D will join statewide law enforcement on February 24 for an aggressive “Click It Or Ticket” mobilization to get more motorists to buckle up — and save more lives.
Despite evidence proving the benefits of wearing a seat belt, nearly one in four Missouri motorists are still not making it click. Seven out of 10 motorists killed on Missouri’s roadways are unbuckled. Captain Villanueva said, “Local drivers should be prepared for stepped up Click It Or Ticket enforcement. We will be out there to remind you seat belts can — and do — save lives.” For information on Missouri seat belt usage, please visit www.saveMOlives.com.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol urges all motorists to report any driver they observe operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner. The public can contact the Patrol toll-free at 1-800-525-5555 or on their cellular phone at *55.
