EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Results Of S.T.E.P./Hazardous Moving Operation & Sobriety Checkpoint

Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, releases the following information:

A total of 259 arrests and 211 warnings were issued in conjunction with a S.T.E.P./hazardous moving violations operation and a sobriety checkpoint held in Troop G this past Labor Day holiday weekend. These operations were held in Shannon County at the intersection of Missouri Highway 19 and Missouri Route A.
These combined totals include: three misdemeanor DWI arrests, one speed arrest, 43 seat belt arrests, one child restraint arrest, 20 driver’s license arrests, and 25 uninsured motorist arrests. Officers also made 30 felony drug arrests, one felony warrant arrest, 110 misdemeanor drug arrests, nine minor in possession arrests, and 16 non-moving arrests.
Captain Chadwick says, “Traveling is inherently dangerous. When you add intoxicated and drugged drivers to the equation the danger increases greatly. Our officers will continue to vigorously enforce the law in an attempt to keep our roadways safer.”
