EMPHASIS: 10-Mile Trooper

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that Troop I officers will again be involved in the "10-mile Trooper Project" during the peak travel days of the Memorial Day weekend on Interstate 44. By assigning a trooper every 10 miles on the state's more heavily traveled highways, the Patrol hopes to reduce traffic crashes through vigorous enforcement and high visibility. The objective of the program is also to place a trooper in close proximity of motorists who may need assistance.
Captain Kenley stated, “For many the Memorial Day weekend will be the first opportunity to enjoy the many pleasurable activities of summer. However, the excitement of that first summer outing can be tragically spoiled by a traffic crash. By strictly following Missouri's traffic laws, which includes making sure everyone in your vehicle is buckled-up, you can help make this holiday weekend both enjoyable and safe."
