EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of DWI Saturation


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a DWI saturation conducted in Greene County on Friday, May 9, 2014, and on Saturday, May 10, 2014. During the operation, troopers issued 211 warnings and made arrests or issued citations for the following offenses:

DWI: 10
Speed: 7
Failure To Wear A Seat Belt: 51
Hazardous Moving Violations: 18
Non-Moving Traffic Violations: 39
Driver's License Violations: 13
Uninsured Motorists: 21
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests: 11
Felony Warrant Arrests: 3
Misdemeanor Drug Arrests: 7
Felony Drug Arrest: 1
Misdemeanor Criminal Arrest: 1
Felony Criminal Arrests: 2

The objective of DWI enforcement projects is to deter drinking and driving and to make citizens aware that drinking and driving will not be tolerated. The Missouri State Highway Patrol urges all citizens to report any vehicle they observe operating in a careless manner. In support of “The Drive To Zero Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
