EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint Held In Randolph County


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Randolph County.
On June 1, 2013, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Moberly Police Department, and the Randolph County Sheriff's Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on U.S. Highway 24 at Robertson Road, in Moberly, Missouri. As a result of the checkpoint, which began at 11:00 p.m. on June 1, 2013, and concluded at 3:00 a.m. on June 2, 2013, officers checked 143 vehicles, issued five traffic citations, made three arrests, and issued 10 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the checkpoint:

1-- Arrest for driving while intoxicated
2-- Arrests for misdemeanor drug violations
2 -- Citations for driver's license violations
2 -- Citations for insurance violations
1-- Citation for a non-moving violation

"The Missouri State Highway Patrol takes drinking and driving very seriously," stated Captain Wilt. "The Patrol will be holding other special enforcement operations throughout the year in an effort to make our highways safer. If drinking alcohol is part of your plans, choose a designated driver."
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
