EMPHASIS: Results Of Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. In St. Louis And St. Charles Counties



Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Friday, November 16, 2012, in St. Louis and St. Charles counties. During the eight-hour project, nine troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred within the construction/work zone located on Interstate 70 on both sides of the Blanchette Bridge.

Speed -- 36 summonses
Seat Belt -- 20 summonses
Uninsured Motorists -- 5 summonses
Non-Moving Violations -- 9 summonses
Followed To Close -- 1 summons
Other HMV Moving -- 4 summonses
Driving While Revoked -- 5 summonses
Warnings -- 79
Total Vehicles Stopped -- 82
*Warrant Arrests -- 11


“I want to encourage everyone driving through work zones to obey the reduced speed limit and be attentive while driving,” said Captain Johnson. The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
