EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint Conducted In Livingston County

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint in Livingston County. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on July 4, 2014, to 2 a.m. on July 5, 2014. As a result of this operation officers checked the drivers of 348 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint. There were one citation and seven warnings issued during the operation.

“There is no room for intoxicated drivers on Missouri roadways. If you choose to drink and drive, you will lose,” states Captain McDonald. “If your plans include consuming alcohol, have a designated driver."

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
