EMPHASIS: Results Of Driving While Intoxicated Saturation


On July 13, 2007, a driving while intoxicated saturation was conducted in Buchanan County. A total of four troopers were assigned to the eight-hour operation.
A total of 25 arrests and no warnings were issued as a result of the saturation. This total includes one arrest for driving while intoxicated, one felony warrant arrest, four misdemeanor drug arrests, seven moving violations, and 12 non-moving violations. There were also a total of seven field sobriety tests given during the saturation.
Captain Robinson stated, “ Since Buchanan County has a high frequency of alcohol-related crashes, the saturations are an effective way of arresting and removing these dangerous drivers.”
