EMPHASIS: Troop C Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. Results In Franklin County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in Franklin County on Missouri Highway 100. During the eight-hour project, 12 troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zone on MO 100 between Washington, Missouri, and Interstate 44.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 65 summonses and 84 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, 26 individuals were cited for exceeding the speed limit and 15 for no seat belt. The remaining summonses were issued for miscellaneous traffic violations. During the eight-hour project, a total of 89 vehicles were stopped for traffic violations.
Captain Johnson said, “These types of operations that are conducted in construction/work zones make it safer for the motoring public, contractors, and state employees. Please obey the reduced speed limits and be attentive while driving through work zones.”
