EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Three Day Wolfpack Operation

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a three day special enforcement operation in Dent County, entitled “Wolfpack”. The days of the operation were April 15, 16 and 18, 2010. The Patrol's objective was vigorous enforcement of all traffic laws, with a special emphasis on alcohol and drug violations. During the course of the operation the assigned troopers stopped 132 vehicles, issued 149 warnings and made the following traffic enforcement contacts and criminal arrests:

DWI: 3
Speed: 17
Seatbelt: 27
Driver's license: 3
Other traffic Violations: 9
No Insurance: 5
Hazardous Moving: 2
Misdemeanor Drug Violations: 13
Minor In Possession: 2
Felony Drug Violations: 4
Warrant Arrests: 1

Captain Kenley stated, "We know that vigorous traffic enforcement will lead to safer highways. By taking illegal drugs off the streets the Patrol also hopes to make our communities a safer place for all our citizens. I feel both objectives were met during this enforcement operation in Dent County."
