EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Dent County. The checkpoint was conducted from 10 p.m., December 9, 2011, until 2 a.m., December 10, 2011, on Missouri Highway 19, near the roadside park in Salem. Assisting in the enforcement operation were officers from the Salem Police Department and the Dent County Sheriff’s Department. During the course of the four-hour operation, officers stopped 239 vehicles. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:
DWI Arrests -- 1
Seat Belt Violations -- 14
Non-Moving Traffic Offense -- 1
Driver’s License Violations -- 5
Uninsured Motorists Violations -- 4
Misdemeanor Drug Violations -- 2
Warnings -- 45
Captain Kenley stated: “I would like to thank everyone who was stopped at the checkpoint for their patience. These types of enforcement operations continue to improve the safety of our highways.”
