EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop Results In Drug Seizure
At approximately 9 p.m., August 25, 2010, a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and commercial vehicle enforcement officer stopped a westbound tractor-trailer at the 172-mile marker in Phelps County for a routine safety inspection. Following the stop, the officers became suspicious of possible criminal activity and requested a canine to sniff the load. A Rolla police officer and canine responded. The canine positively alerted to the trailer’s load and a search was then conducted. Concealed inside the unit was approximately 1,000 pounds of processed marijuana.
Arrested for felony drug trafficking in the first degree were Reginald Jean-Guerrier, 30, and Leon S. Fraser, 44, both of Brooklyn, New York.
The charges for which Jean-Guerrier and Fraser have been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence
