EMPHASIS: Troop B Promotions Announced

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the following Troop B promotions effective July 1, 2015.
Trooper Daniel A. Spring was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 5, Adair and Schuyler counties. Spring was appointed to the Patrol on June 29, 2003. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop H and stationed in Maryville, Missouri. On November 12, 2006, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 4, Putnam and Sullivan counties. He is a native of Centerville, Iowa, and graduated from Moulton-Udell High School in Moulton, Iowa. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in sociology from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. He and his wife, Shayla (McCormack), have two children.
Trooper William R. Koch was promoted to corporal. He will remain in his current assignment as a marine operations trooper in Troop B. Koch was appointed to the Patrol on May 31, 2005. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 7, Knox and Lewis counties. On August 8, 2008, he transferred to Troop F, Zone 6, Morgan and Moniteau counties. On August 12, 2012, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 9, Marion and Ralls counties, where he was assigned as a marine operations trooper. He is a native of Quincy, Illinois, and graduated from Quincy Senior High School. He holds an associate of science degree from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois. He and his wife Laura (Keck) have one child.
Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
