EMPHASIS: Captain Juan Villanueva Announces Promotions In Troop D


Effective June 1, 2015, Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the following promotions for Troop D:

Corporal Jimmy A. Beckett was promoted to sergeant in his current assignment as the training officer in Troop D. Beckett is a native of Monett, Missouri, where he graduated from high school in 1978, and later attended Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Corporal Beckett began his career with the Missouri State Highway Patrol on August 1, 1986, as a member of the 58th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was first assigned to Troop A, Clay County. In 1989, he transferred to Troop D, Zone 12, Christian County. On April 1, 1995, Beckett transferred to Troop D, Zone 1, Greene County, where he was promoted to corporal and served as the assistant zone supervisor until his assignment in October 2010, as the Troop D Training Officer. He and his wife, Alice (Cates), have two grown children, Marcus Beckett (daughter-in-law Holly) and Maria (Beckett) Lewis (son-in-law Kyle).

Corporal Mark D. Green was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will remain in his current assignment as assistant zone supervisor of marine operations in Troop D, Zone 21. Green was born in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated in 1987, from Glendale High School in Springfield. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Baker University, Baldwin, Kansas, in 1991. Green was appointed to the Patrol on August 1, 1993, as a member of the 66th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, Green was assigned to Troop D, Zone 4, serving in Stone and Taney counties. On July 1, 2000, he was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor in Zone 4, Taney County, and later in Zone 15, Stone County, from 2004-2009. On April 1, 2009, Green was promoted to sergeant and assigned as zone supervisor of Zone 10, Webster County, where he served until 2012, when he took a voluntary reduction in rank to be assigned to his current position with marine operations. Sergeant Green and his wife are the parents of two children.

Corporal Thomas L. Hall was promoted to sergeant in his current assignment as a canine handler in Troop D, Zone 17. Hall was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1995, and after graduating from the Patrol Academy, as a member of the 70th Recruit Class, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 5, Adair and Schuyler counties. In 2000, he transferred into the Troop B canine unit and in 2001, was promoted to corporal. In 2002, he transferred to the Troop D canine unit, Zone 17. Hall is a native of Iowa City, Iowa, and graduated from Iowa City High School. Before being appointed to the Patrol, he graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He and his wife Jenny have two sons, Brady and Jordan.
