EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop E

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the assignment of five new troopers to Southeast Missouri. The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 98th Recruit Class that graduated from the Patrol Academy on June 27, 2014. The new troopers will report for duty on July 14, 2014.

Trooper Matthew R. Freeman, of Kennett, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 8, which serves the citizens of New Madrid and Pemiscot counties. Trooper Freeman is a graduate of North Pemiscot High School, Wardell, Missouri. Trooper Freeman previously worked as a commercial vehicle inspector in Troop E. Trooper Freeman is married to Ashley (Ray) Freeman. Trooper Freeman’s field training officer will be Trooper Craig A. Cook.

Trooper Iris R. Elfrink, of Leopold, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 7, which serves the citizens of Mississippi, New Madrid and Scott counties. Trooper Elfrink graduated from Leopold High School and attended college at Ottawa (Kansas) University. Trooper Elfrink’s field training officer will be Trooper James C. Cooksey.

Trooper Landon J. Haggett, of Dexter, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 8, which serves the citizens of New Madrid and Pemiscot counties. Trooper Haggett is a graduate of Dexter High School, and holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife conservation and biology from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Trooper Haggett’s field training officer will be Corporal Marcel M. Jones.

Trooper Kyle L. Huggins, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Butler and Ripley counties. Trooper Huggins is a graduate of Twin Rivers High School and attended Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Trooper Huggins is married to Allyson (Buhler) Huggins. Trooper Huggins' field training officer will be Trooper Shayne K. Talburt.

Trooper Cody D. Tucker, of Corning, Arkansas, has been assigned to Zone 3, which serves the citizens of Wayne County. Trooper Tucker is a graduate of Corning High School and holds an associate’s degree in administrative justice from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Trooper Tucker’s field training officer will be Trooper John J. West.
