EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations Conducted In Troop B During June 2012


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of DWI enforcement saturations conducted in the Troop B area during the month of June 2012.
During the month of June 2012, DWI enforcement saturations were conducted on June 8, in Chariton and Randolph counties; and on June 15, in Shelby County. Each of the saturations began at 10 p.m. and concluded at 2 a.m. the next day. The goals of these traffic enforcement operations were to detect intoxicated drivers, hazardous moving, driving over the speed limit, and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operations, officers made 22 arrests and issued 19 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturations:

1 -- Arrest for driving while intoxicated
14 -- Citations issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
2 -- Citations issued for seat belt violations
1 -- Citation issued for a hazardous moving violation
1 -- Citation issued for a non-moving violation
1 -- Citation issued for license violation
1 -- Arrest misdemeanor drug possession
1 -- Arrest for a misdemeanor criminal offense

"The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing impaired drivers from our roadways," stated Captain Wilt. "If drinking alcohol is a part of your plans, please choose a sober designated driver."
