EMPHASIS: Moberly Resident Arrested On Drug Charges Following Investigation Of An Illegal Marijuana Growing Operations And Search Warrant
On Monday, October 21, 2008, at approximately 8 p.m., Brent T. Bagwell, 39, of Moberly, Missouri, was arrested following an ongoing investigation of a marijuana growing operation south of Bevier, Missouri, in Macon County, and the execution of a search warrant at his residence located at 412 Johnson Street, in Moberly, Missouri. During the execution of the search warrant officers located marijuana and Vicodin.
Brent T. Bagwell was arrested for felony production of a controlled substance (marijuana), maintaining a public nuisance, felony possession of a controlled substance (Vicodin), misdemeanor possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana. Bagwell was transported to the Randolph County Jail where he is being held pending the issuance of warrants.
During the investigation, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by members of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, North Missouri Narcotics Task Force, Northeast Missouri Narcotics Task Force, Missouri State Conservation Department, and the Moberly Police Department.
The charges for which Bagwell was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
