EMPHASIS: Troop F Officers To Participate In Youth Alcohol Enforcement Mobilization

Captain Gregory D. Kindle, commanding officer, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F, announces from
May1, 2014, through May 12, 2014, Troop F officers will be joining other Missouri law enforcement agencies during the Youth Alcohol Mobilization. During this period, officers will be stepping up enforcement efforts with a goal of removing impaired drivers from Missouri roadways. With prom and graduation season here, Missouri law enforcement agencies want to make sure Missouri youth are celebrating safe and sober.

It is illegal for someone under 21 to possess or consume alcohol in Missouri, yet youth make up a significant proportion of drunk drivers causing traffic crashes on Missouri roadways. Missouri has a zero tolerance law. If you are under 21, your license will be suspended if you’re caught driving with even a trace of alcohol in your system.

Consequences of drunk driving include jail time, loss of driver license, being sentenced to use ignition interlock systems, higher insurance rates, attorney fees, court costs, lost time at work, and the potential loss of job or job prospects. When family, friends, and co-workers find out, violators can also face tremendous personal embarrassment and humiliation.

In support of “The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!!
