EMPHASIS: Electrical Shock Incident At Lake Of The Ozarks

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012, a 26-year-old female was swimming with her two step-brothers in Dry Branch Cove at the Lake of the Ozarks. All three swimmers, after feeling an electrical charge in the water, attempted to get out of the water. The female subject, later identified as Jennifer L. Lankford, of Hazelwood, MO, received an electric shock by a yet undetermined source of electricity. She was removed from the water, cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was started and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO, where she was pronounced deceased. The investigation is being conducted by Troop F Marine Operation Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, July 9, 2012.
