EMPHASIS: Troop B Results Of St. Patrick's Weekend DWI Enforcement Campaign


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of the "2013 St. Patrick's Weekend DWI Enforcement Campaign" conducted in the Troop B area. The enforcement campaign began at 11 p.m., on March 16, 2013, and concluded at 3 a.m. on March 17, 2013. During this enforcement campaign, six troopers patrolled various highways in the Troop B area with a specific goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made six arrests and issued 30 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the campaign:

2- Arrests for driving while intoxicated
1- Summons issued for speed
1- Summons issued for a hazardous moving violation
1- Summons issued for an insurance violation
1-Summons issued for a driver's license violation

Law enforcement agencies throughout Missouri participated in this statewide effort to remove drunk drivers from our roadways in an effort to make Missouri roadways safer.
"Drunk driving contributes to approximately 27% of all Missouri traffic crashes," stated Captain Wilt. "Please never get behind the wheel of a vehicle after you have consumed intoxicating beverages."

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
