EMPHASIS: Public Safety Alert
On August 27, 2014, in the early morning hours a Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department police vehicle was stolen from the Kansas City, Missouri, area. The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department was able to track the vehicle and determined it was stationary approximately 10 miles south of Bethany, Missouri, near the 75-mile marker on northbound Interstate 35. The vehicle was located, but the suspect had abandoned the vehicle and is believed to be on foot and is presumed armed. The suspect has been identified as Joshua Boyd, a 30-year-old, white male from Liberty, Missouri, who was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and khaki shorts. The public is encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and if any suspicious person or activity is observed to contact 911 and report it. The public should remove keys from their vehicles, and make sure their residences are secure. A photograph of Boyd can be found attached to the bottom of this news release on the Patrol's website.
