EMPHASIS: Drug Seizure, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D
Today, December 9, 2009, an eastbound 2001 Freightliner tractor-trailer was stopped by a state trooper for a lane violation on Interstate 44, at the 84 mile-marker, in Greene County. Due to logbook inaccuracies and nervousness on behalf of the driver consent to search was requested and granted. A roadside search revealed approximately 130 pounds of marijuana located inside the sleeper berth.
The driver, Javon J. Joseph, of Jacksonville, MS, was arrested for first degree drug trafficking, and transported to Greene County Sheriff's Department.
The charge for which the above person was arrested is a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
